From the Desk of Pastor Davis

Elder Davis
Somewhere along her journey, the mission of the modern day Church has taken on the attributes of “big business” where what is becoming most important, is the financial bottom line.  The success of today’s Church is now being measured in dollars and cents, not by the number of souls led to salvation, nor the lives which have been changed for the better.  The Church is seemingly being transformed into modern day companies, corporations and businesses.  Where the Holy Bible entrusted the day to day overseeing of God’s Church to the Deacons, Missionaries, Pastors, Elders, Evangelists and Bishops, men and women who were led by the prompting of the Holy Ghost, they are now being replaced by CEOs, CFOs, COOs, President and Directors, men and women who are driven by financial success, the acquisition of property and high membership totals.

In spite of all of these errors and misleadings at the hands of man, we as individuals constitute and make up the Body of Christ, which is the true Church. As we represent the Church, it becomes imperative that each of us remain mindful of how we carry and conduct ourselves before the eyes of the unsaved and the sinner.  We must constantly search ourselves and make examination of the impressions we are leaving upon those we come into contact with.  When a person beholds us, do they see only our personality, or do they see the Christ living within us?  Truly, if the world is to come to know Christ, if the world is to experience the love of God, it should be our desire that they first experience these things through us.

As the called of Jesus Christ, now is the time for us to shed our self-centered goals and agendas, now is the time to tear down and remove the walls of denominationalism, time to surrender our will, that the will of God might be manifest in our lives.  Now as never before, the true Church must be willing to take center stage and to make a Godly stand for holiness and righteousness. Before us lies a great and tremendous harvest of souls, ripe for salvation and eternal life.  Let us now go forth and gather those that are lost and without hope, and introduce this dying world to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

This is the Mission Statement of Christ Temple Church: to study and spiritually prepare ourselves as God’s disciples, applying the word of God first to our own lives, that we might be sufficiently equipped to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the four corners of the earth and make disciples of men.
